Officials continue to watch the David Caruso stalker situation very carefully. Yesterday we wrote that security had been stepped up for the star of CSI: Miami. Now, those close to this story are raising concerns for the safety of Caruso's two tots aged three and one. Heidi Schnitzer, the fugitive Austrian stalker hiding out in the Tijuana/Rosarito area, has already threatened to kill the mother of Caruso's two youngest children, Liza Marquez. With Dr. Karin Treichl having diagnosed Schnitzer with severe personality disorder capable of becoming dangerous, could Schnitzer also pose a threat to Caruso's small children?
It was only three short years ago that the FBI along with Montana police foiled the plot of Kelly A. Frank to kidnap David Letterman's son. Frank, who worked as a painter on Letterman's ranch, hatched a scheme to kidnap Letterman's then sixteen month-old son along with the Nanny. The plan was to have the Nanny take care of the child until Letterman paid the ransom demand. Thankfully, Frank was arrested before he was able to follow through with the kidnapping.
Schnitzer has been in hiding for months now and her already strained financial resources are probably running low. This time a year ago Schnitzer had resorted to begging for money on the Internet. What will her desperation lead to this year? Officials are hoping for the best but privately planning for the worst.
Heidi Schnitzer remains a fugitive hiding out in Mexico near Tijuana, Ensenada and Rosarito. Scnitzer is armed and considered to be extremely dangerous. Please do not attempt to apprehend this woman. Contact the U.S. Border Patrol at 1-800-232-5378 , the FBI or Austria's Bundeskriminalamt at +43-(0)1-531 26-0.
