David Caruso - For Two Months Stalker Remains At Large

Today marks two months since Gabriele Huber was scheduled to be tried on charges related to stalking and threatening to murder David Caruso, his daughter Greta and Liza Marquez. On April 16, 2008, Huber jumped bail fleeing to avoid prosecution. A warrant issued for her immediate arrest has never been executed. For days following Huber's flight, media services worldwide were all over this story. Not a word has been reported since.

As most of us who follow this story are painfully aware, Huber not only remains at large but continues flooding the Internet with slander and libel in furtherance of her very personal hate war against David Caruso. Although her exact location remains unknown, bloggers are able to make educated guesses based on their traffic stats. In working with other bloggers and sharing information, a definite pattern can be seen in Huber's activities. Huber also has been availing herself of multiple computers along with a number of different proxy servers in a failed attempt to disguise her location.

In the two months since she has been on the run, Huber has rarely missed a day on the Internet. Although there have been times when her access to the Internet appeared to be severely restricted, Huber has always managed to get her slander posted. The madness so prevalent prior to Huber's flight from justice sadly continues unabated with no end in sight.

David Caruso is not the first celebrity to be stalked by a deranged psychopath and he will not be the last. What sets Caruso apart from other celebrities is the fact that his perpetrator has successfully managed to elude capture. Whether this is by design remains to be seen. It is abundantly clear that the capture of Huber appears to be of no major concern to either Austria's impotent Bundeskriminalamt or the equally apathetic Austrian prosecutor who has jurisdiction over this matter. What is known is Huber has been thumbing her nose at authority for over a year now with little notice taken by those intimately involved with this case. Is law enforcement waiting for a tragedy to occur before they take Gabriele Huber seriously?

One can only wonder if behind the scenes negotiations have been undertaken to bring this matter to a close. Will the ultimate disposition of this case ever be made public?
