The day after Judge Boehler issued the international warrant for Heidemarie Schnitzer's arrest, blogger K.D. Griffin published the story on Watching CSI. As she had done multiple times over since the news broke, Schnitzer weighed in on Griffin's post in the comments section. Using her "Anonymous" pseudonym, Schnitzer attempted to cast doubt on the story published by the venerable Associated Press. Afterwards, I posted a comment (that does not appear) to Griffin and I included traffic stats that showed the Mexican i.p. address Schnitzer was using. Griffin responded as follows:
Quite the contrary Kathy, Schnitzer doesn't doubt the story at all. In fact, she knows it's true but simply wants to cast as much doubt as possible in the minds of anyone who reads it. Schnitzer believes, wrongly so, that she will get a lighter sentence when she is ultimately captured and returned to Austria if she can make this story into some kind of sick joke on the Internet. Thanks to people like you, Dojo and myself who doggedly post the truth about this woman, it's highly unlikely that will happen.
Heidemarie Schnitzer remains a fugitive hiding out in Mexico's Baja region. Schnitzer is armed and considered to be extremely dangerous. Please do not attempt to apprehend this woman.
